As per the Australian Component Pricing laws, prices with 10% GST added need to be shown to website visitors.

International shoppers (once they are registered and logged in), pay no tax.

I have previously set this up successfully in VirtueMart 1 and am wondering if anyone can tell me what the best practice is for VirtueMart 2 which seems to be a little different.

There seems to be mixed advice about this on the VirtueMart forums and elsewhere.

Thanks in advance.

OK, the following settings seem to work. Does this look reasonable?

At Components -> Virtuemart -> Products -> Taxes and Calculation Rules, set up 2 tax rules like this:

Calculation Rule name: 10% GST
Published: Yes
Ordering: 1
Type of Arithmetic Operation = Tax per product
Math Operation: +%
Value: 10
Country = unspecified
Shopper Groups = unspecified
Start Date: choose a date before today
End Date: Never

Calculation Rule name: No Tax
Published: Yes
Ordering: 2
Type of Arithmetic Operation = Tax per product
Math Operation: -%
Value: 10
Country = All except Australia
Shopper Groups = unspecified
Start Date: choose a date before today
End Date: Never

In Components -> Virtuemart -> Products -> each product settings, leave Product Pricing rules under the Product Information tab at the defaults i.e.:

Base Price: Apply default rules
Final Price: Apply generic rules
