Is there anyone out there with experience in J2store pro? When I did pre sales questions with them I had a few specific things that I needed for this website. One of them was sub categories. A few months into adding thousands of products and not quite getting the layout the way I wanted I've pushed them on the subject and now been told sub categories aren't supported. I'm feeling pretty devastated. I'm no developer. I'm on steep learning curve but I'm not completely naive either.

Perhaps there's another e-commerce extension that would work? I'm guessing to work out the coding for J2store pro is going to cost me thousands and there is no budget. I'm building this site for free.

E-shop doesn't have certain functions I need.

Any help or suggestions would be hugely appreciated.

Hi there, there's a guy named Russ in QLD who is great with J2Store. I can't work out how to tag in this forum software but I'll send this thread through to him and hopefully he can get in touch.

Cheers,
Nicky

Thank you so much! I'm at my wits end and looking for an alternative, none of which really appeals

I've only built one store in J2store and subsequently migrated it to Eshop so I'm unlikely to be able to help much. But from what I recall of J2store, isn't it based on Joomla articles? Are you able to do the categories/sub-categories within com_content?

You might need to elaborate on this to get more helpful replies.

Have you contacted the EShop developers? They are usually pretty helpful.

The last e-commerce project I completed needed some unusual customisations to cope with online alcohol sales and I ended up using HikaShop which is particularly easy to customise although your mileage may vary.

Yes it is based on articles, and within Joomla you can create sub categories using Article categories but there's no way of getting those sub categories to display within J2store.

I used aceshop years ago and that would've done everything I wanted this time around. I naively purchased eshop only to find it didn't have a lot of functions. Yes, have spoken to eshop support many times over a couple of months and it ended with me getting a refund as it wasn't going to work.
They were very helpful.

Give me a call / message me directly -
I've done a few sites with J2 Store and may be able to suggest some solution to your challenge if i know specifically what you are trying to achieve.

Cheers
